We provide grants to individuals under 35 years old who have a residential connection with Birmingham or the West Midlands for at least five years. Members of the Birmingham and Midland Institute may also be eligible, even if they reside outside the area.
-
Our grants can cover essential items such as uniforms, clothing, tools, instruments, or books. These funds are meant to help students prepare for further education, vocational training, or entering a profession, trade, or calling.
-
We support students pursuing further education at universities, colleges, vocational training programs, or apprenticeships. We also consider applications from those involved in social and physical training schemes.
-
To apply, you must complete our application form and submit it with proof of your studies, a personal letter detailing your needs and goals, and a reference from a tutor or equivalent mentor. Visit our “Apply for a Grant” page for full details.
-
Your personal letter should explain your current educational or vocational path, the financial challenges you face, and how our grant will help you achieve your goals. This letter gives us insight into your circumstances and aspirations.
-
Once you have submitted your application and all required documents, we aim to review it within a few weeks. We will notify you if your application has been successful or if we require any additional information.
